She Had 30 Years of Experience—and Still Didn’t Believe It Could Work

Last week, I spent 2 half days in a VIP Strategic Intensive with a client—and I haven’t been able to shake what I witnessed.

She has 30 years of experience in her field.
A deep bench of expertise.
Receipts. Results. Proof that she knows what she’s doing.

And yet…

She was terrified to restart her business.

Not because she wasn’t capable.
Not because she lacked talent or credibility.
But because starting again—even with evidence—can mess with your head.

Here’s what I want you to hear clearly:
Fear doesn’t disappear just because you’re qualified.

In fact, the higher your level of experience, the louder the fear can get.

Why?
Because now you know what’s possible.
You know what’s at stake.
You know what success and disappointment actually feel like.

And that fear?
It’s normal.

What shifted everything for her that day wasn’t a pep talk or hype.
It was putting the plan on paper.

Once we slowed down and mapped:

  • what she knows
  • who she helps
  • how her expertise translates into real value
  • and what her next reasonable steps actually look like

Something changed.

She could see it.

And when you can see it, belief doesn’t have to come all at once.
It shows up quietly.
In pieces.
In logic.
In evidence.

That’s the part people don’t tell you:
You don’t need full confidence to begin.
You need clarity.

Belief grows after clarity—not before it.

And here’s the truth I want you to borrow if you need it:

Sometimes you don’t need to believe in yourself yet.
Sometimes you just need someone else to believe for you…
until you catch up with yourself.

That’s the work I do.

I help you take what you already know, already are, already carry—and turn it into something tangible. Something grounded. Something real.

Because fear doesn’t mean “stop.”
It means you’re standing at the edge of something that matters.

And you’ll never know what’s possible until you’re brave enough to put the plan together and look at it.

I’ll believe you can—
until you do too.

Not sure what step is right? That’s okay.

Am I Ready… Or Am I Just Curious?
I’ve been noticing something lately. Some women come to me with 25+ years of experience, leading teams and driving strategy, asking: “Do you think I’m ready to consult?” And others come quietly, almost whispering: “I don’t even know if what I do counts.” Different levels.Different titles.Same question. Am I ready? And here’s what I’ve learned: Most women aren’t confused about their capability. ...
The Space Between Where You’ve Been and What’s Next
I shared a reel this week about my new office—but what I didn’t say there is why this move mattered more than the logistics.   After ten years in business, you stop making decisions just to prove you’re growing. You start making them because you can feel when something no longer fits.   This office wasn’t on a vision board. It wasn’t part of a five-year plan. It showed up because I was paying a...
Starting Over (Even When You’re Experienced)
For the last 10 years, I ran a DEI consulting practice. And before that? Nearly 20 years in corporate—leading, advising, building, fixing, carrying. That business wasn’t random. It was a direct extension of the work I had already mastered. And yet… here I am.Relaunching.Repositioning.Reintroducing myself. And if I’m being honest, it feels like starting over. Not because I lack experience. Not bec...
