Am I Ready… Or Am I Just Curious?

I’ve been noticing something lately.

Some women come to me with 25+ years of experience, leading teams and driving strategy, asking:

“Do you think I’m ready to consult?”

And others come quietly, almost whispering:

“I don’t even know if what I do counts.”

Different levels.
Different titles.
Same question.

Am I ready?

And here’s what I’ve learned:

Most women aren’t confused about their capability.

They’re confused about how it translates.

You can be:

• A director with decades of leadership
• A manager who runs operations like clockwork
• A project lead everyone relies on
• Or someone who just knows you’re meant for more

And still feel unsure about what “ready” actually means.

Because readiness isn’t about title.

It’s about clarity.

Clarity about:
– What you’re good at
– Who you help
– What problem you solve
– What’s missing before you move

Without that?
Everything feels fuzzy.

And when it’s fuzzy, it feels risky.

So you wait.

That’s exactly why I created the Consultant Readiness Scorecard.

Not to judge you.
Not to label you.
But to help you see where you actually stand.

Maybe you’re more ready than you think.
Maybe you need structure.
Maybe you just need direction.

The scorecard will tell you.

And once you know?
You can choose your next step confidently.

For some of you, that next step will be refining and scaling.

For others, it might be starting with the foundation — understanding how your corporate skills translate into consulting in the first place.

Both are powerful.
Both are valid.

But guessing helps no one.

If you’ve been thinking about consulting — even quietly — start here.

Take the Consultant Readiness Scorecard

Let’s replace “I think” with “I know.”

And from there?
We build.

The Space Between Where You’ve Been and What’s Next
I shared a reel this week about my new office—but what I didn’t say there is why this move mattered more than the logistics.   After ten years in business, you stop making decisions just to prove you’re growing. You start making them because you can feel when something no longer fits.   This office wasn’t on a vision board. It wasn’t part of a five-year plan. It showed up because I was paying a...
Starting Over (Even When You’re Experienced)
For the last 10 years, I ran a DEI consulting practice. And before that? Nearly 20 years in corporate—leading, advising, building, fixing, carrying. That business wasn’t random. It was a direct extension of the work I had already mastered. And yet… here I am.Relaunching.Repositioning.Reintroducing myself. And if I’m being honest, it feels like starting over. Not because I lack experience. Not bec...
She Had 30 Years of Experience—and Still Didn’t Believe It Could Work
Last week, I spent 2 half days in a VIP Strategic Intensive with a client—and I haven’t been able to shake what I witnessed. She has 30 years of experience in her field.A deep bench of expertise.Receipts. Results. Proof that she knows what she’s doing. And yet… She was terrified to restart her business. Not because she wasn’t capable. Not because she lacked talent or credibility. But because star...
